The increasingly complex track setup was completed while everyone was out shopping. Given time considerations I intended to let Remy run the RC car by himself. Unfortunately or more fortunately the track seemed defective and he couldn't complete a lap. So I ran the car to gage the difficulty myself. Though I too had no success beyond a single lap. Then we traded off and Remy started running the track successfully. First he made up to three laps. Then five laps. I was still having trouble making three (note the trouble spots at the bottom of the post).

This exchange is exactly the kind of adult / child interaction the GUIDED PLAY seeks to develop. So for an extended time we traded out running the car and counting the laps. It made me exceptionally happy that Remy could sit and wait his turn. After many tries Remy was the first to complete 10 laps and was declared the winner .... Afterwards he was happy to share his secret and I too completed ten laps .... then fifteen .... This was a GUIDED PLAY success.
